NDT Tanks inspection UT and MPI
Oil / Gas2 / Storage Tanks / NDT and ANDT inspection techniques , TRD offers a complete package of NDT and ANDT inspection techniques covering all , 100% MPI inspection of the annular plate to shell weld; 100% vacuum box testing and Ultrasonic thickness checks on all floor plates — 5 readings per plate
Magnetic particle inspection (often abbreviated MT or MPI) is a nondestructive inspection method that provides detection of linear flaws located at or near the surface of ferromagnetic materials. It is viewed primarily as a surface examination method. Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is a very effective method for location of surface breaking and slight sub-surface defects such as cracking, pores, cold lap, lack of sidewall fusion in welds etc in magnetic materials. There are many different techniques. The most versatile technique is using a 110v AC hand held electromagnetic yoke magnet, a white strippable paint as contrast background and a magnetic "ink" composed of iron powder particles in a liquid carrier base.
TRD has the capability to inspect all NDT types including:
we offer ‘In Service’ and ‘Out of Service’ storage tank inspections to refineries and tank storage terminals. Using the latest technology, our fully qualified API 653 Tank Inspectors carry out Detailed Visual Inspection (DVI) and all our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technicians are trained and certificated in:
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
- Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL)
In addition to NDT Services TRD can perform load test Services compliant with international standards and codes.
